Two GMC Rajouri Officials Suspended in Alleged Negligence Case

Srinagar, June 9(KNZ/TMJ): In a significant development, the administration of Government Medical College (GMC) Rajouri has placed two healthcare officials under suspension following allegations of medical negligence connected to the death of a woman patient at Associated Hospital GMC Rajouri.

 

According to an official order issued by the Office of the Medical Superintendent, the action was initiated after reports emerged regarding the death of Mrs. Nusrat Jan, who was admitted to the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and passed away on June 8, 2026.

 

The suspended officials have been identified as Tahira Hussain, serving as Junior Staff Nurse (JSN), and Fozia Farzana, Female Multipurpose Health Worker (FMPHW). Both officials have been suspended with immediate effect pending a detailed inquiry into the incident.

 

The order stated that the decision was taken in the interest of a fair and impartial investigation to ascertain the facts surrounding the alleged negligence. During the suspension period, the officials will remain attached to the office of the Medical Superintendent, AH-GMC Rajouri, and have been instructed not to leave the station without prior permission from the competent authority.

 

Authorities further informed that a separate inquiry will be conducted by the competent authority, while the suspended officials have been directed to fully cooperate with the investigation proceedings.(KNZ/TMJ)
