Jammu, March 24:Basharat Ajaz Khan, presently posted as Range Officer Kupwara, has been conferred a UT-level award in recognition of his exemplary performance during his tenure in Sindh Forest Division.
The award was presented at a function held at Forest Resource Management Centre (FRMC), Narwal, Jammu, on the occasion of International Day of Forests.
The honour was conferred by Javed Ahmed Rana, Hon’ble Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment and Tribal Affairs, in the presence of the Commissioner Secretary to Government, Forest, Ecology & Environment Department, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (HoFF), and other senior officers of the Forest Department.
Basharat Ajaz Khan was recognized for his outstanding contributions in:
• Eviction of encroachments from forest land
• Strengthening public outreach and community engagement
• Efficient public dealing and grievance redressal
• Accurate and systematic demarcation of forest areas
His dedicated efforts have significantly contributed towards protection and conservation of forest resources while fostering trust and cooperation among local communities.
The recognition at the Union Territory level reflects his commitment, professionalism, and result-oriented approach in discharging his duties. Currently serving in Kupwara, he continues to uphold high standards of forest governance and field administration.
