Kangan, June 25 (KNC): A large branch of a walnut tree fell on a residential house in the Poshkar area of Kangan following heavy rainfall and strong winds, partially damaging the structure and triggering panic among local residents.

According to local sources, the incident occurred after several hours of continuous rain and gusty winds, causing the massive branch to snap and crash onto the house. The impact damaged a portion of the roof and other parts of the building.

Family members who were inside the house at the time of the incident escaped unhurt in what residents described as a miraculous escape. However, the incident has raised serious concerns among people living near old and large trees, particularly during adverse weather conditions.

Residents said the area had witnessed heavy rainfall and strong winds before the incident, increasing the risk of weakened tree branches collapsing onto nearby houses.

The locals have urged the concerned authorities to immediately assess the damage and provide adequate financial assistance to the affected family. They also called for a survey of old and potentially hazardous trees near residential areas and demanded timely pruning to prevent similar incidents in the future.(KNC)
