Ganderbal 21 May (KNZ):J&K Police District Ganderbal continues its Stringent action against the persons involved in illegal extraction/practice of Minor Minerals i.e, Sand, Bajri, Boulders and its further un-authorised transportation within the District.
On the directions of SSP Ganderbal Shri Sandeep Gupta-IPS,Special Police teams were constituted led by SHOs and DOs of PSs and PPs of Sub-Division Ganderbal & Sub-Division Kangan under the supervision of Gh Hassan-JKPS Hqr’s Ganderbal & SDPO Kangan Shri Muzaffar Jan-JKPS to check the menace of illegal mining in the District. In the course of action, 19 Persons were arrested & 14 Tippers, 04 Tractors were seized during the previous 03 months. These vehicles were loaded with illegally extracted Bajri/Sand & Boulders from Nallah Sindh Ganderbal.
In this regard, Case FIR No.s 04, 05, 11, 09, 14, 15, 75, the 78, 94, 06 & 14 of 2024 IPC, under relevant sections of law stands registered at PS Ganderbal,
PS Lar, PS Safapora, PS Kheerbawani, PS Kangan & PS Gund respectively.
Moreover, during the joint course of action in the previous 03 months, Ganderbal Police alongwith Geology and Mining Department raided at different locations in the District and Seized 26 Tippers, 08 Tractors & 01 Load Carrier and recovered fine from them on the spot.
Time to time, Ganderbal Police has repeatedly issued strict warnings to the persons who are involved in the illegal practice of mining. We again advise everyone to refrain from this illegal practice, otherwise strict action under law against the culprits shall continue in future also.KNZ
