GANDERBAL, JUNE 2(KNZ/TMJ): In a commendable display of dedication and prompt response, two employees of the Power Development Department (PDD), Fayaz Magray and Riyaz, earned widespread appreciation from residents after restoring electricity supply in Wayil village of Ganderbal within a short time on Tuesday.
The electricity disruption occurred after strong winds uprooted a tree, which fell on a power line and snapped the supply to several households in the area. As soon as the incident was reported, the PDD team rushed to the spot and immediately began restoration work despite difficult weather conditions.
Showing commitment towards public service, Fayaz Magray and Riyaz worked tirelessly to cut and remove the fallen tree from the power line, ensuring the damaged line was cleared safely and efficiently. Their timely action helped restore electricity swiftly, minimizing inconvenience to the local population.
Residents of the area lauded the duo for their professionalism, dedication, and quick response, stating that their efforts prevented a prolonged power outage.
