SSP Anantnag Honours Young Hero for Saving Elderly Woman from Drowning in River Jhelum

 

Anantnag, June 13: In a heartwarming gesture of appreciation, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Anantnag, Amod Ashok Nagpure (IPS), honoured a young boy for his remarkable act of bravery in rescuing an elderly woman from the River Jhelum and averting a potential tragedy.

The young hero, Sehran Ashraf, son of Mohammad Ashraf Hakeem and a resident of Bangidar, Anantnag, displayed exceptional courage after noticing an elderly woman struggling in the river’s fast-flowing waters following an apparent suicide attempt.

Without hesitation and disregarding his own safety, Sehran rushed into action and successfully rescued the woman, bringing her safely to the riverbank and saving her life through his timely intervention.

Recognising his extraordinary courage and humanitarian spirit, SSP Anantnag felicitated Sehran and commended his quick response, selflessness, and sense of responsibility. He said such acts of bravery inspire society and reflect the highest values of compassion and service towards fellow human beings.

The SSP further expressed hope that Sehran’s noble deed would encourage others to step forward and help people in distress during emergencies. He also highlighted the importance of collective responsibility in safeguarding lives and fostering a caring and compassionate society.
