Ramban, July 18: On 17-07-2022, an information was received through reliable sources regarding presence of caché of arms & ammunition and related material in the forest area of Hadwagan, Buzla tehsil -Khari of District -Ramban.
Acting swiftly on this, a joint search operation of JK Police (Police Post Khari) and Army (23 RR) was launched in the forest area at about 2:30 pm and suspected hideout locations were searched in Hadwagan area which continued till 08:30 pm in the evening during which security forces busted a suspected militant hideout and Arms & ammunition and related material were recovered in Hadwagan forest area of tehsil-khari.
Details of arms/ammunition recovered are as follows:-
1 Ak-47 rounds- 35 (rusted)
2 Pika amm.- 07 rounds(rusted)
3 9mm rounds:- 07 (rusted condition)
4 Ak-47 magazines :- 02 (rusted)
5 Explosive type material in polythene :- approx 01 kg
6 Explosives type material in steel container:- approx. 02 kg 7 Fragmentation grenade :- 01
08 UBGL :- 01 (rusted) 09 Radio set Alinko:- 01
10 Panasonic (casette player) :- 01
11 IED equipment with wire :- Broken condition
12 Pouch :- 01
13 kerosene stove:- 02
14 cooking utensils:- 03
The entire joint search operation was led by 23 Rashtriya Rifles (Rajput) and police party of Police post Khari headed by PSI Sweet Singh, ICPP Khari under the command of Insp. Muneer Ahmed {SHO P/S Banihal}, supervision of DySP Nisar Ahmed Khoja { SDPO Banihal} and under the overall supervision of Ms Mohita Sharma, IPS SSP Ramban.
