Srinagar March 04: Continuing unwavering efforts to bridge the gap between police & public, Police facilitated Police Community Partnership Group (PCPG) meetings in Kulgam & Budgam.

In Kulgam, PCPG (Police Community Partnership Group) meetings were held at Police Station Kulgam, Police Station Manzgam, Police Post Mirbazar & Police Post Frisal. These meetings were chaired by respective jurisdictional officers and were attended by respectable citizens including Market associations, Auqaf bodies, Chowkidars, Numberdars, Sarpanchs, Panchs, youth and other representatives of Sangus, Kaharwat, Town Kulgam, Manzgam, Frisal, Chinigam, Malpora, Mirbazar and other adjacent villages.

In Budgam, PCPG (Police Community Partnership Group) meeting was held at Police Post Narbal which was Chaired by Incharge Police Post Narbal. The meeting was attended by the respectable citizens of the locality, Lumbardars, Panchs Sarpanchs, trader’s federation representatives and civil Society members of Narbal and its adjacent villages. The objective of the meeting was to further strengthen the synergy between police and public with a specific view on making drugs free society.

During these meetings, participants raised various issues of public importance. Referring to the issues highlighted by the participants, chairing officers assured them that genuine issues will be taken up with the concerned authorities for their immediate redressal besides issues related to Police will be resolved in shortest possible time. The Participants were stressed to co-operate with Police in maintaining law and order in the area and in identification of anti-national elements who try to disrupt the peaceful atmosphere.

While addressing the participants, chairing officers urged upon in strengthening the Police public relations and also cooperate in eradicating all types of crime from the society so that a peaceful and crime free atmosphere is created in the area. The officers have also requested upon providing the information to police about smuggling of drugs and other illegal activities if any noticed for initiating appropriate action against the offenders.
