Srinagar: Hon’ble MLA Aga Syed Muntazir Mehdi today called on Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Mr. Anchul Garg (IAS), and raised serious concerns regarding the ongoing demarcation process at Hokarsar.
During the meeting, the MLA strongly emphasised that the legitimate rights and interests of local villagers from Dharmuna, Soibug, Goripora, Gotpora, Choorpora, Sozeith, Hajibagh and adjoining areas must be fully protected.
Aga Syed Muntazir Mehdi stated that the concerns of affected communities should be addressed with sensitivity, fairness and due consideration, making it clear that any infringement of their legitimate rights in the name of demarcation or conservation would not be acceptable.
The Divisional Commissioner assured the MLA that the demarcation process would be carried out in a transparent and fair manner, while ensuring that the legitimate interests and priority rights of the villagers are not compromised.
