New Delhi/Srinagar July 19 : Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday spoke to Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to take stock of the flood situation in Rajouri district following heavy overnight rainfall.

Officials said the Home Minister was briefed about the situation on ground and the ongoing rescue and relief operations in the affected areas.

Shah assured the LG and CM of all possible assistance from the Centre for the safety and security of the affected people.

Heavy rains have triggered flash floods and damage in several parts of Rajouri district, prompting administration to step up relief measures. (GNS)
