Poonch, July 19 : Poonch Police on Sunday released the latest statistics of casualties and missing persons in flash flood-affected areas of the district.

As per the data shared by police to GNS, In Murrah, 8 persons were affected. All have been identified. So far 2 bodies have been retrieved, while retrieval of the remaining 6 bodies is in progress.

In Sangla, 4 persons were affected. All have been identified. 2 bodies have been retrieved, while retrieval of the remaining 2 bodies is in progress.

In Sangalani, 1 person was affected. The person has been identified and the body has been retrieved.

In Marhote, 1 person was affected. The deceased has been identified as Iram Kouser, daughter of Abdul Majid, and the body has been retrieved.

In Dogrian Buffliaz, 1 person was affected. The person is yet to be identified and the body is yet to be retrieved.

At PS Poonch, Noona Bandi, Nazia Kouser, wife of Mohd Hafiz, aged 28 years, resident of Noona Bandi, Poonch, died due to the incident. Four injured persons have been shifted to District Hospital, Poonch for treatment.

Rescue and search operations are continuing in all the affected areas with the help of police, civil administration and locals.(GNS)
