DC Ganderbal reviews progress of National Highway Projects

 

GANDERBAL, AUGUST 04: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore, today chaired a review meeting to assess the progress of National Highway Projects in the district, including Ring Road Phase-II and Phase-IIA, with a special focus on expediting land acquisition and removal of bottlenecks in the projects.

During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the physical progress of the project and took stock of the pending issues affecting the smooth execution of works. Stressing the importance of timely completion of the project, he directed all concerned departments to work in close coordination to ensure early resolution of bottlenecks and facilitate uninterrupted execution of the project.

A detailed review of the land acquisition process and disbursement of compensation to affected landowners was also conducted. The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned revenue officers to expedite all pending land acquisition formalities and ensure timely payment of compensation in accordance with the prescribed procedures.

The representatives of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and the executing agency apprised the meeting about the present status of the project, progress achieved on various stretches, and the issues requiring intervention for removal of bottlenecks.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that the Ring Road project is of immense public importance and directed all stakeholders to maintain close coordination to ensure that all encumbrances are removed in a time-bound manner. He instructed the concerned officers to closely monitor progress on the ground and take immediate action for resolution of issues affecting project execution.

The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Revenue Ganderbal, representatives of NHAI, Project Managers of the executing agencies and other concerned officers.
