Anantnag August 12: DIG South Kashmir Range, Shri Javid Iqbal Matoo-IPS, chaired a comprehensive security review meeting at District Police Office Anantnag to assess the prevailing security scenario and review preparedness ahead of the forthcoming Independence Day celebrations.
The meeting was attended by senior officers of the Army, CAPFs and Police, including SSPs of all districts of South Kashmir Range.
During the meeting, the DIG took a detailed review of the overall security situation across South Kashmir and assessed operational preparedness, deployment arrangements, area domination, surveillance, naka checking, protection of vital installations and security arrangements at vulnerable and sensitive locations.
The participating officers briefed the DIG on the security measures and operational strategies being implemented in their respective jurisdictions. Detailed discussions were also held on strengthening the security grid, enhancing inter-agency coordination and ensuring timely sharing of intelligence inputs.
DIG SKR directed all officers to maintain a high level of alertness and further strengthen security arrangements in view of the forthcoming Independence Day celebrations. He emphasised proactive measures, intensified patrolling and checking, close monitoring of the security environment and swift response to any emerging threat.
