NIT Srinagar organises Tiranga rally under Har Ghar Tiranga campaign

 

Srinagar, Aug 12: The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar on Wednesday organised a Tiranga Rally under the nationwide ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ Campaign 2026, as part of its celebrations ahead of India’s 80th Independence Day.

 

The rally witnessed enthusiastic participation from members of the NIT Srinagar community, including Deans, Heads of Departments and Centres, faculty members, non-faculty employees, outsourced staff, students, research scholars, NCC and NSS volunteers and other staff members.

 

The programme was aimed at promoting patriotism, national unity and pride while encouraging members of the institute community to display the National Flag, the Tiranga, with pride and respect.

 

The rally was flagged off by Incharge Director Prof. Roohi Naaz in the presence of Registrar Prof. Atikur Rehman. Deans, HoDs, HoCs, faculty members, administrative staff and the institute’s Security Officer also participated in the event.

 

NCC and NSS volunteers were also present during the programme. Participants carried the National Flag and raised patriotic slogans as they marched around the campus in a coordinated display of national pride and unity.

 

The rally was organised in accordance with the institute’s call for active participation in the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ Campaign 2026. The campaign aims to strengthen citizens’ emotional connection to the National Flag and encourage people to display the Tiranga as a symbol of national pride, unity, and identity.

 

The rally was part of the broader Independence Day celebrations being organised by NIT Srinagar. The Institute is conducting a series of activities involving students, faculty and staff to mark the occasion and highlight the significance of the country’s freedom struggle, national unity and constitutional values.

 

The Institute’s campaign message, “Tiranga – Our Pride, Our Identity, Our Nation,” was highlighted as the central theme of the initiative.

 

The programme concluded with participants reaffirming their commitment to the values of patriotism, unity and national service and to celebrating Independence Day with pride and respect for the National Flag.
