Baramulla, April 20: District Mineral Officer (DMO) Baramulla, Er. Zulfikar Mohammad Shafi, carried out a surprise inspection in the Kunzer–Tangmarg area to curb illegal mining activities.
During the drive, five vehicles involved in unauthorized extraction and transportation of minerals were seized on the spot. The action forms part of the ongoing crackdown to ensure strict enforcement of mining regulations in the district.
The DMO also issued clear directions to the concerned incharge and field staff to ensure that only legal mining operations are permitted, warning that any violation will attract strict action as per law.
Officials reiterated the administration’s commitment to protecting natural resources and maintaining transparency and accountability in mining activities.
