Srinagar, Apr 21 (JKNS): Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday said it will intensify its crackdown against drug trafficking by not only arresting peddlers but also attaching their properties to dismantle the entire narcotics ecosystem in the city.

Speaking to media persons as per news agency JKNS on the sidelines of the Adi Shankaracharya Jayanti celebrations at Tagore Hall, SSP Srinagar Dr. G.V. Sandeep Chakravarthy said that 15 to 20 FIRs have been registered against drug peddlers in the last 10 days alone, reflecting a sustained anti-drug awareness.

“We will not only arrest drug peddlers but also seize their properties to dismantle the ecosystem,” the SSP said, reiterating the police’s firm resolve to curb the drug menace.

He further said that such cultural events play a vital role in strengthening communal harmony and reconnecting youth with their roots, adding that the police will continue to support such initiatives.

On the Darbar Move, the SSP said a comprehensive security plan has been put in place to ensure the safe transit of employees from Jammu to Srinagar, assuring that there will be peace and adequate security around office premises. (JKNS)
