Jammu, May 14 (KNC): Continuing its drive against drug trafficking, Jammu Police’s South Zone achieved a major success after Police Station Gangyal arrested two alleged drug peddlers and recovered contraband substance from their possession.
According to police sources, during a naka/checking operation, the accused were intercepted by a team of PS Gangyal. During the search, police recovered nearly 30 grams of Chitta (Heroin), ₹68,000 cash believed to be proceeds of drug trade, and a digital weighing machine used for weighing the narcotic substance.
Both accused were taken into custody on the spot and the recovered material was seized as per legal procedures.
Police have registered a case under relevant sections of the NDPS Act and further investigation has been taken up to trace forward and backward links involved in the narcotics network.
Jammu Police reiterated its commitment to continue strict action against drug peddlers under the ongoing anti-drug campaign across the region.(KNC)
