Sumbal, June 2: MLA Sonawari, Advocate Hilal Akbar Lone, on Tuesday laid the foundation stone of a new Type Primary Health Centre (NTPHC) building at Odina in the Sonawari constituency, marking a significant step towards strengthening healthcare infrastructure in the area.
The foundation-laying ceremony was attended by BMO Hajin, Executive Engineer R&B Sumbal, Executive Engineer PDD Sumbal, officials from the PHE department, and other concerned officers.
Speaking on the occasion, the MLA emphasized the importance of improving healthcare facilities in rural areas and said the new health centre would help provide better medical services to residents of Odina and adjoining villages. He assured the public that development of essential infrastructure remains a priority.
The project is being executed at an estimated cost of ₹240.08 lakh and is expected to significantly enhance healthcare delivery in the region upon completion.
Local residents welcomed the initiative and expressed gratitude to the MLA for taking steps aimed at public welfare.
They said the new building would further strengthen the health sector and improve access to quality medical services for the local population.
