Anantnag September 05: SSP Anantnag Shri Amod Ashok Nagpure-IPS chaired a meeting with PSIs at DPO Anantnag to review training, operational preparedness and investigation.
During the meeting, SSP Anantnag reviewed the progress of investigations being handled by the PSIs and assessed the quality and timely disposal of pending cases. He stressed upon the officers to follow due legal procedures and maintain professional standards during investigations.
The operational preparedness and field performance of the officers were also reviewed, with emphasis on alertness, effective response and prompt action in all situations. The training requirements of PSIs were discussed to further enhance their professional skills, operational capabilities and knowledge of procedures.
SSP Anantnag directed the officers to maintain a high level of professionalism, ensure effective supervision and continuously improve their performance across all three domains training, operations and investigation.
Police Apprehends 04 Forest Smugglers In Anantnag
September 05: Continuing its drive against illegal forest activities and the smuggling of forest produce, Police in Anantnag apprehended four persons allegedly involved in forest smuggling in the district.
During the intervening night of September 04/05, 2026, a police party of Police Station Larnoo apprehended four forest smugglers while they were allegedly engaged in the illegal cutting and loading of forest timber onto a tractor bearing registration number JK03M-5421 in the Matihindoo area. The apprehended individuals have been identified as Bashir Ahmad Khari, Irshad Ahmad Khari, Shabir Ahmad Pathan and Niyaz Ahmad Khari, all residents of Matihindoo.
The tractor used in the commission of the offence has been seized as per due procedure. A case under the relevant provisions of law has been registered, and investigation has been initiated.
Police reiterates its commitment to protecting forest resources and taking strict action against forest smuggling.
