Srinagar, 24 Jul: The Jammu & Kashmir National Conference Chief Spokesperson and MLA Zadibal Tanvir Sadiq Friday visited the revered shrine of Sultan-ul-Arifeen Hazrat Sheikh Hamza Makhdoom Sahib (RA) to take stock of the arrangements for the forthcoming Annual Urs.
During the visit, he paid obeisance at the shrine and prayed for lasting peace, harmony, and prosperity in Jammu & Kashmir.
Accompanied by officers from the Civil Administration, Power Development Department (PDD), Health Department, Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), Traffic Police, and other concerned departments, Tanvir Sadiq inspected the preparations on the ground and reviewed the measures being taken to ensure the smooth and hassle-free conduct of the Urs.
He directed the concerned departments to work in close coordination with the civil administration, shrine management, security agencies, and local representatives to ensure that all essential facilities, including uninterrupted electricity, safe drinking water, sanitation, healthcare, traffic regulation, and other public services, are put in place well before the commencement of the Urs.
Lauding the people of the area for their unwavering support, Tanvir Sadiq said the local residents have always set an example of generosity and hospitality by extending every possible assistance to the thousands of devotees who visit the shrine from across Jammu & Kashmir and other parts of the country. He expressed confidence that, with the continued cooperation of all stakeholders, this year’s Urs would be observed in a peaceful, well-organised, and spiritually uplifting atmosphere.
