Ganderbal : A suicide attempt was foiled hours after the steel arch truss bridge at Wayil was opened as a trail.

Reports said that the newly constructed Wayil bridge was thrown open for traffic on a trial basis; however, on the first day, a suicide attempt by a youth was foiled by the alert cops posted there.

An official told Kashmir Despatch that two cops saved the life of a youth who jumped into the river and tried to end his life.

He said police are looking to ascertain under what circumstances the boy tried to end his life.
