Ganderbal, May 8(kNz) : An unidentified body was recovered from an agriculture irrigation canal in the Dangerpora area in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Friday, officials said.
An official told Kashmir News Zone that the locals spotted the body lying inside the canal and informed the police. Soon after, a police team reached the spot and retrieved the body.
The identity of the deceased was not immediately known, they said.
The body was shifted for medico-legal formalities, while police have initiated proceedings to ascertain the identity of the deceased and the circumstances surrounding the death.
Further investigation is underway.(KNZ)
