LG Manoj Sinha Pays Obeisance at Ancient Shri Gauri Shankar Mandir in Kishtwar, Orders Revival of Temple Pond

JAMMU, June 6 (KNC): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday paid obeisance at the ancient Shri Gauri Shankar Mandir at Sarkoot in Kishtwar and offered prayers for peace, prosperity and the well-being of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

 

During his visit to the revered shrine, the Lieutenant Governor interacted with public representatives and local residents and took note of their concerns and developmental demands. Responding to a key issue raised by the locals, he directed the District Administration to initiate appropriate measures for the rejuvenation and restoration of the pond adjoining the temple.

 

The move was welcomed by residents, who had sought the revival of the historic water body associated with the shrine.

 

The Lieutenant Governor was accompanied by Leader of Opposition in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Sunil Sharma, MLA Kishtwar Shagun Parihar, Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Pankaj Kumar Sharma, besides other senior civil and district officials during the visit.(KNC)
